MARIGOT: --- A passenger who went to the L Esperance Airport in GraND Case said she was severely injured when she went to the GraND Case Airport on March 3rd, 2023, to purchase a ticket from one of the airlines there.
The woman identified as Janine Prescod said that on the day in question, someone mopped the floor aND did not place up any sigSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAge to say the floor was wet, she explained that she proceeded to walk out of the airport when she slipped on the wet tile aND sprawled on the floor. Prescod said when she fell, she was uSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAble to get up aND instead of maSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAgement reNDering assistance to her they were busy looking for a sign to place on the floor.
The injured woman sustained injuries to her cervical aND lumber spine that may require surgeries.
Prescod said she was taken to the NDidate' href='/newspolitician/1/louis constant-fleming'>Louis Constant Fleming Hospital where the director of L Esperance said the airport was going to pay the bills for her treatment, however, while at LCF the woman said she was given painkillers aND sent home after an Xray was performed.
Prescod said after being sent home the pain became more excruciating aND since the islaND does not have any neurologists she opted to travel to her home country where she consulted with a neurologist that diagnosed her with spiSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAl injuries due to a fall. The woman said ever since she fell down all her medical expenses inclUDing therapy in St. Maarten aND overseas is at her own expense since the L Esperance Airport did not follow through in paying LCF Hospital. She said in the beginning the Director of L Esperance contacted her a few times to see how she was recovering but at no time did they offer to take on the medical expenses.

It's been 4 months since I was injured, I am not able to work or even take care of my children, aND maSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAgement of L Esperance has not contacted me to see how I getting through this difficult moment.
I also hired the services of a lawyer to file a case against L Esperance aND its maSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAgement team but after paying this lawyer I am informed that there is a jUDiciary break aND that I need to wait a bit longer before this process can begin.

SMN News reached out to the director of LEsperance Pascal Marcoux who said that L"Esperance Airport has involved its lawyers aND Insurance Company in the accidental incident involving Mrs. Prescod. He said the file has not been closed aND unfortuSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAtely, he is uSPArty/23/national-alliance'>NAble to provide more information to the media. Asked if he has made contact with the accident victim, Marcoux said he did not make contact but his collaborators were in contact in the very beginning.
