Police continues Robbery Awareness program

On Wednesday May 17th the second of four Robbery Awareness Trainings conducted by the Sint Maarten Police Force, mainly the Community Police Officers, in collaboration with the Philipsburg Safety and Security Committee was given to business owners and their employees on Front Street and members of the Indian Merchant Association at the Cultural Center on Back Street.

These Robbery Awareness Training are given free of charge by the Police Department to any business upon their request. The trainings are given to these business owners to help them and their employees’ better deal with situation in the event they become victims of a robbery.

The training was well attended. Also attending the training were the President of the Indian Merchant Association Mr. Damu and the president of Philipsburg Safety and Security Committee Mr. Eric Ellis.

Police participates in MPC Career Day

On Thursday May 19th representatives from the Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) participated in the 2017 Career day held at the Milton Peters College. The Police Department was represented by Community Police Officer Felix Richards, Officer Marcia Bremer and Head Public Relation and Communication Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson.

A complete Power Point presentation of what the police do on a daily basis, the type of equipment in use by the police, the structure of the organization and of course the encouragement of the students to join the police force as a future career.

The students that attended the presentation were full of enthusiasm and participated fully in the discussions. They asked many questions which were all answered.

The Police Department is taking this opportunity to congratulate the Career Guidance Counselor and her staff for a job well done in organizing this event.

Police chief receives certificate

On Friday May 19th representatives of AMA CONSULTINGS presented Chief Commissioner of Police Carl John with a certificate of Leadership and Appreciation for the outstanding work he has been doing and achievements he has made.

Representing AMA CONSULTINGS were Dr. Sherwin S. Espoza and Jose Luis Evertsz ( Office Manager Sint Maarten).
