Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - As promised, Sunday July 3, 2016, New Era Art Gallery lit up Front Street with a late afternoon of Poetry, Jazz and Art of diverse medium at the Royal Palm Plaza.
Present at this exciting and hyped soirée were, The Honorable Minister of Education, Culture, Youth & Sports Silveria Jacobs; The Ombudsman Dr. Nilda Lynch-Arduin; Mrs. Mavis Brooks-Salmon, Raad van Advies; Dr. R. Douglas, many esteem guests, most valued friends and supporters.
The artists featured were: Mr. Mervin Hous; Mr. Kerwan Celestine; Ms. Lucinda ‘La Rich’ Audain; Mr. Randolph Scott; Mr. Kenneth Samson; Mr. Kelly; Art Student Ms. Suzie; host, organizer of the event and painter, Ms. Leola Cotton.
The highlight of the evening was the Master Piece Art Competition. Nine enthusiastic competitors participated. The criterion was simple. The contestant should have no prior experience with painting on canvas. Contestant had to copy a selected painting.
The Master Piece Art Competition was won by Ms. Annelies Starreveld.

The Gallery is open daily Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 am until 5:30 pm at the Royal Palm Plaza, Front Street.
