Unbiased look at the Sint Maarten Elections
MARIGOT:--- The Collectivite of St-Martin is going to start an inventory of the Built heritage of Saint-Martin in order to identify, to know better and value its historical and cultural heritage. For that purpose, and to oversee the project, two companies, EURL Robin-Clerc and Art2 Conseil, has been chosen. They are represented by Michèle ROBIN-CLERC, expert architect and town planner and Elisabeth DANDEL, historian of the art, specialist of the cultural inventory.
In March and April and May 2016, field prospecting and observations are going to be led by these two providers on our whole territory, rural or urban area, coast and hills, in all the districts and localities of Saint-Martin. During this Fieldwork phase, buildings may be photographed, measured and drawn by the architects.
The heritage elements concerned by this inventory are:
- The dry stone walls- Houses- Town houses- Old plantations or industrial farms- Wells- Churches- Public buildings- Cemeteries and private graves- Groups of buildings with tourist vocation- Old fortifications or defense systems- Salt works- Alleys or characteristic urban areas of Saint-martin
The study will begin with Marigot area. Pictures, measurements, architectural surveys, may be done within this inventory. District councils in partnership with the Collectivité with relay the information to the public.
This inventory of the built heritage will allow us to document and know better our territory before the implementation of our cultural policy of preservation and valuation. It will allow us to better understand the elements of our heritage and to guide our public action.
