Cay Hill:--- A female passenger from Liberty Cruise line that was at the end of the Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIAE) to experience the jet blast from departing aircraft ended up hitting a taxi and broke its front lights. The passenger also suffered injuries to her forehead that had to be stitched while she also suffered with a broken collar bone.
The incident took place sometime on Monday. SMN News contacted Acting Police Spokesman Steven Carty who confirmed that the female tourist was hanging on PJIAE fence that is almost on Beacon Hill road. Carty said when the jet blast hit the passenger the hat she was wearing blew off and she turned around to get the hat and in doing so she landed on the taxi that was passing at the time. Carty said the taxi driver was very cooperative with the family and took less money from them for the damages to his vehicle since he knew the incident was not done on purpose. The acting police spokesman further explained that PJIAE took extra precautions and extended their fence way up to the Beacon Hill road while they placed several signs there hoping it would deter people from hanging on to the fence for the jet blast experience.
