Pantophlet Villa Foundation Donate Grants To The Asha Stevens Hill Side School

CAY HILL, St. Maarten- As part of its "Help A Parent Project" the Pantophlet Villa Foundation (PVF) presented a total of 3 financial grants on Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 to the Asha Stevens Hill side Christian school.

The "Help a Parent Project" is designed to offer parents/families who, through no fault of their own, were suddenly unable to pay their child's school fees or uniforms due to: 1) * loss of employment of one or both parents; *divorcee without assistance of spouse; *widow(er), but who still shows an active interest in the child's education.

The Pantophlet Villa Foundation was established on February 23rd 2009. The main goals of the Foundation is to: (1) Organize regular social and fundraising activities such as the popular "Sacu Nite", Aruba Day/St. Maarten Day food sale, PVF's One Day Primary School Basketball knockout, Social/Dance nights with Control Band (2) Assist a family, that face acute financial difficulties, to pay for their child's school fee, one set of uniforms and gym clothes, hairdo and shoes for the school year.

Since its inception, the Foundation has sponsored a total of 5 primary schools and 1 high school namely: The Sister Magda primary school, The St. Peters Hillside Christian School, the Methodist Agogic Center (MAC), the St Joseph School and the Sundial School.

This year the Foundation was proud to present a total of 3 financial grants to the Acting principle, Ms. Marva Sam of the Hillside Christian School on behalf of 3 students/families.

Mr. Arrindell thanked: Mrs. Sam, school secretary Ms. Duffis for their support and invaluable assistance in providing the names of the candidates. The Foundation's is equally appreciative of sponsors and active volunteers for their commitment, generous and continued support. Special thanks to the Foundation's board members for their hard work and dedication.

After the presenting the checks to the Acting Principle, Mr. Arrindell encouraged students to continue to make their parents and community proud and noted the organizations extremely high expectations of each of them. Mr. Arrindell said that he was confident that one day they would help create a new St. Martin that is progressive, just and the envy of the Caribbean.

He also noted that a young St. Martiner, once asserted that we stop telling our children that sky is the limit while man has left foot prints on the moon." He reminded students that they are the masters of their destiny and the architects of their future and encouraged them to always walk in their purpose!

In closing, Mr. Arrindell thanked the Acting Director and staff and the families for their attendance and for making the day a huge success!
